Mutual influence between art forms has been profound throughout history. Surrealist artists had their epiphany through André Breton’s words; Debussy upheld the ideals of Impressionist painters in a musical way; young Hemingway sought enlightenment from Cézanne’s landscape paintings during his formative years. The Modernist architect Le Corbusier, who was an advocate of Purism himself, designed Maison de la Roche and Villa Savoy with aesthetics unique to the Purist group.

Photography, like any other art, is inspired by certain notions and is also able to evoke sentiments. One of the artistic values that photography carries is its ability to translate spatiality to visual quality. This creates an interesting interrelation between architecture and photography. If architecture is a tectonic celebration of an abstract idea, then photography reduces the physical dimension back to its essence, be it a concept, a mood or an image. Photography expresses itself as an independent creation and curates how the reality can be seen and felt.

An idea leads to a representation leads to a spatial construct leads to an ambience leads to an emotion leads to an idea... It is fundamental to keep up the creative power of humanities; not only to continue to create, but also continue to inspire and be inspired.
